Dr. Yingchun Zhu D. D.S., M. S., is a dentist with three dental degrees. Providing the most advanced dental care in a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere are the priorities of Dr. Yingchun Zhu. She is dedicated to providing her patients with a gentle, caring, and comprehensive approach to oral health. She follows a holistic approach to dentistry and believes that good oral hygiene is the key to the overall wellness of her patients.
Her commitment to excellence in the practice of General Dentistry extends beyond the routine, including the ongoing education and involvement in the health of her patients. On top of that, Dr. Zhu has developed a distinct gift for working with children to establish sound dental habits.
She received her first dental degree from the Capital University of Medical Sciences in Beijing, China, and was the recipient of the Academy of Outstanding Dental Student in General Dentistry Award in 1993. After completing her General Dentistry training, she was accepted into the Orthodontic Graduate Program and graduated in 1996 with honors. Prior to coming to the U.S., she has practiced General Dentistry and Orthodontics. In 2009, she graduated from University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine with her 3rd dental degree. After she completed her training, she moved to Chicagoland area and has been practicing there since.
She is a member of the United States of Dental Institute, and has earned hundreds of hours for her postdoctoral Orthodontics training. Given all of her dental training and experience, Dr. Zhu is considered by her patients to be one of the best and most amicable faces in the business. Dr. Kim was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. His family immigrated to the US when he was 14. Dr. Kim received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and minor in Mathematics from Creighton University, where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Kim later received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kim enjoys traveling, being a foodie, and spending time with his family and friends. Giving him restaurant recommendations is strongly encouraged!
Dr. Matt Tokarski was born and raised in Downers Grove, Illinois, where he was active in both high school and extracurricular lacrosse programs. Following high school, Dr. Tokarski attended Iowa State University where he served as both the Scholarship, and Alumni Director of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. After obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology in 2017, he matriculated into UIC College of Dentistry and obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2021. During his time at UIC, he remained involved in the American Student Dental Association and focused heavily on community outreach and predental student involvement.
In addition to his DMD, Dr. Tokarski obtained a General Practice Residency certificate at the Order of Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. His experience focused heavily on orofacial trauma, infections, surgical intervention, and the complex medical management of patients.
Currently, Dr. Tokarski is enrolled in the UIC College of Dentistry Periodontics and Implantology specialty program focusing on advanced periodontal surgery techniques, dental implant placement, sinus augmentation, grafting procedures, and IV sedation.
Outside of dentistry, he enjoys watching “his” Green Bay Packers, Chicago White Sox, and exploring the city. Community outreach is another interest where he attempts to remain an active participant. As an Eagle Scout he believes that it is essential to stay involved with your community. Overall, Dr. Tokarski is excited to return “home” with both his fiancé, Monica and bluetick coonhound puppy, Maple.
